I am a PhD Candidate in City and Regional Planning and Political Economy at the University of California, Berkeley. My dissertation examines how digital technologies intersect with traditional institutions such as caste, religion and kinship to structure labor-market access in urbanizing India. I have also participated in and maintain collaborative urban research projects in a number of countries including Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, France, South Korea, and the United States.
I hold a master's degree in Urban Planning from Sciences Po, Paris. I have also worked previously as a researcher at the Centre for Policy Research (New Delhi) and as a Fellow at the Indian Institute for Human Settlement (Bengaluru). I am a digital humanities practitioner and helped co-found The Missing Basti Project, and also write blogs and articles in the popular press on a range of themes.
